One of the pioneers of the environmental movement in kerala. A former Proffessor of zoology at the payyannur college sine 1972 till he retired in 1992. JohnC, who inspired a generation of students in the green cause. Had been in the forefront of the agitation to save the silent valley. The small green movement -Zoological Club- he started at the Payyannur College in 1972. Which is a campus based activities for conservation of nature and expressing protest against tgreat to the ecology. It was believed to be the first nature education movement on campus in the Nation. He started 'Myna' which was the first nature education journal in the state. After that he edited 'Ankh', 'Soochimukhi', ' Viswa sahodarya Prasadam'. He had founded One Earth One life, an environmental organisation. He had conducted several nature camps for students and other nature lovers since then. He was the founder of SEEK (Society for Environmental Educayion in Kerala), an environmental organisation.
